Simple melodic lines underpinned by lesleys on overdrive and punctuated by sparse barbed wire fiddle, the little girl voice of Laura Cortese sounds strangely perfect in this setting. Her music has spirit and the performance has life.
Some other tracks from this American urban folk album called “Even the Lost Creek” are the smooth title track Even the Lost Creek with its pop meets jazz feel, and the really pretty Bluejays with vocal harmonies ably provided by Jesse Harper.
