Finding pieces for Sundays is becoming a lot of fun, I could just rummage through the net and find comfortable music that doesn’t really challenge anything Or like today, I am going to push the limits of downtempo a bit.
Yes I know it’s Sunday but even the colour magazine supplement in your Sunday paper occasionally covers a real issue.
I heard of LiPo a while ago and he is the major force behind Nomans Land. This weeks piece, ?Lacrymosa? which is full of lots of dark, swirling electronics and layers and layers of orchestral synths, is from his new album called RGB. It staggers from idea to idea, and doesn’t leave you with much to get your teeth into melodically but texturally it is a really interesting piece. In places it reminds me of old Tangerine Dream from a long time ago. There are a few other pieces available from the website.
It isn’t a cosy piece but it is worth a listen.
