Spike runs a blog called Bedazzled and every so often he mentions gigs that he ids playing (usually in New York) or snippets of the new album entitled “There’s No Sound In Flutes”
He claims as influences the ’80s New York/London punk and new wave scenes, as well as the power pop of Cheap Trick and Big Star and makes I think pretty good pop music.
Hideaway is full of big string arrangements, “nasty” guitars (I love them) and Mark Spencers’s lead break is a ripper, the vocals are a bit too up front for my taste and need a touch of softening with some reverb to settle them back into the mix.
Good song, great lead break, OK vocals. All in all not too bad. We will have to see how the rest of the album stands up. There are some older pieces available at the www.myspace.com/spikepriggen page.

fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
