This North German folk pop band Godewind (Good Wind) began performing in 1974. They began life as a trio called Albatros and eventually expanded the number of members and their repertoire
By 2004 they’d released 31 albums, written over 400 songs and performed in hundreds of concerts and television shows.
They’ve undergone many personnel changes over the years and the two original members are Larry Evers – bandleader, producer, moderator, singer and guitarist and Shanger Ohl who plays keyboard, guitar and sings. Both write and arrange most of the songs for Godewind .
In fact they all sing – all six of them – four males and two women. A line up that includes keyboards, percussion, flute, guitars, bass and drums.

The arrangements and the songs are dated but the vocal arrangements are deft and tasty. You must listen to Drees the Wunnerdraken or Puff the Magic Dragon to the rest of us, from the 2006 released Unplugged album.
They are worth a listen if you fancy the Seekers or Peter Paul and Mary (sans politics).
jools is a graphic designer who used to front a band on vocals and bass. All evidence of which have mercifully been obliterated or otherwise lost.
