Travel the dusty road to Western Australia and you may hear Loaded Dog. For purveyors of traditional Australian folk ballads and self penned originals. Harking back to a time long past when bush bands could be heard in city pubs all around the country, these guys have been carrying on the tradition and keeping the ballads warm and alive, individually and as a group for 20 years.

Their diversity of backgrounds means that the members are just at home on stage in a huge auditorium as they are in a coffee shop, or around a campfire in the ?Starlight Hotel?. This is demonstrated in their music, which is a mixture of original Australian Contemporary songs, and reinterpretation of some classic Australian Ballads set to contemporary tunes. These reflect the life and cultural experiences of Australians, particularly from a Western Australian perspective (Perth, the capital of WA, is the world?s most physically isolated city).

Loaded Dog are Phil Gray on 12 string guitar and harmonica, Alan Mann on guitar and banjo, Bob Rummery on accordian and english concertina, Phil Roeterdink on guitar and mandolin and Dave Mann on mandolin and dobro.

Twenty Million People” Words & Music by Don Henderson. Some of us have been singing this song since the population was 16 million people. When Don first wrote the song it was a lower number than that. This is a classic Australian view of a large country with a small population.

Further MP3 tracks are available on the MP3 Albums, MP3 Singles and CDs pages.

is a graphic designer who used to front a band on vocals and bass. All evidence of which have mercifully been obliterated or otherwise lost.
