Marimbas. Not an instrument you would normally associate with “chill”, indeed the last time I can remember enjoying them in this genre was in some old Mike Oldfield I was listening to recently (I am having such fun with the new MP3 player… all this stuff I haven;t heard for years). This is a wonderfully melodiccomposition, there aren’t any rude suprises lurking but that isnt to say it’s boring. Far from it.

Dream Lab is a duo (Stuart Elliott and “Soundfreak” who hails from Sweden), it’s a collaboration in making electronic music and creating very melodic and interesting audio compositions. The production values are really high, a really “finished” sound. And to really make your day, if you find this interesting you can find an EP’s wort of material at the website.

I am going to find out some more about “kahvi”, the site were I found this piece. It’s a collective and there seems to be a ton of from a large group of different artists.

homebase: www.kahvi.org

kahvi statistics:
—————
162 audio releases totalling more than 380 tracks
this is equal to 4 gigabytes of audio.
there is (on average) 1800 minutes of audio which
equates to 30 hours of continuous music.

If I have a complaint it’s that the piece is way too short… I’ll just have to grab that EP.

is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
