Playback: mp3

Lucie Thorne writes “pull no punches” lyrics and teams them with melodies that suit her range.
The songs are powerful and gutsy, the voices intimate. When she sings with Heath Cullen there is a magic produced, greater than the sum of the two voices.
It also does the heart good to hear an Australian singer who sings with an unashamedly Australian accent.
Sadly there are no songs on her website, but you can find some samples of her 2002 release Botticelli Blue Eyes on Chaos.com where the album is for sale. The lyrics of all her songs are there though.
Lucie, who is based in Melbourne, has been working with talented young musician Heath Cullen, from Tantawanglo on NSW’s South Coast, and together they play intricate, subtle, ‘two guitars, two voices’ arrangements of Lucie’s songs.
Make the time to hear this Melbourne act, playing at a folk venue near you where she will be supporting her September 2006 3 track single release “The Upfield Line”.
