It’s Monday, we all need to jump start the week a bit so have a listen to The Attorneys. A three piece power pop/rock outfit from New York working at being the next big thing. (They just might do it with a bit of luck). Stay has it all; crunchy guitars, intelligible vocal, a great rhythm section and a killer mix. I mean this thing just jumps out of the speakers, grabs you and screams “LISTEN TO ME”.

What follows is from their BIO, but it sounds like a textbook of how to market your band these days…

The Attorneys has its roots planted firmly in the New York music scene as far back as November, 05. It was then that 2/5ths of girl-rock band Jessie Diamond and The Thousand: guitarist John Wlaysewski and drummer Colin Schiller, were planning their escape. Having just lost their 3rd bass player, they happened upon William Ryan George at an audition, freshly emigrated from Fresno and looking for a musical team that could match his songwriting ambitions. After hearing the unassuming gent sing, John knew something magical could be created in a new band setting.
It eventually came to pass that they would have their chance, as lead singer Jessie Diamond bowed out of the project and The Attorneys were born. Named on Attorney Street outside NYC mainstay Sin-e, The Attorneys recorded a 4 song demo engineered by Nick Rowe of Blood Simple.
Before anything could be done with the material, however, William Ryan George hopped a bus back to Fresno , leaving only two notes at the practice studio and a promise of a swift return. This promise was not enough for Colin, who soon exited the band and left John to decide what to do next. Subsequently, the two agreed to mix the songs for posterity and parted ways.
John then created a website for The Attorneys and posted the 4 song demo, emailing local blogs to tell them about the band. From November 31st through February 21st, he kept the band alive through Myspace, music blogs, and other such means. It was on February 21st that William Ryan George finally hopped a plane back to New York and with longtime musician friend Ken Weisbach, they formed the present and truest lineup of The Attorneys.
