Hartfield

OK, it’s finally time for some Japanese Pop and I found a beaut. I cant explain the fascination with Japanese bands, I cant understand a word of what they are singing, actually that’s possibly it, f you cant understand the lyric you approach it as an instrumental. That’s very cool.

Here is the hype from the website.
Hartfield play a very pleasant-sounding, melodic style of shoegaze rock that soothes the listener, features sighing male and female vocals, soaring pop melodies, all delivered with a healthy dose of syrupy guitars, full of exquisite harmonied-duet vocals, jangly guitars mixed with more fuzzy sounding guitars, and a quick tempo.

So from that we establish that there are tons of guitars (always a good thing in my book) and that there are two singers. The down side is that they don’t seem to have done anything for awhile. Their website www.hartfieldweb.com/01/english/index-1pop_en.html has them touring up until mid 2005 and then they drop off the radar.

A pity really. Have a listen, I will be surprised if you can stop at playing them only once.

OK I have decided “Girl Like You” is my favourite.

thatch is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
