Rather than go down the “we’re hot… bang out an album” path, Ground Components took the road less travelled these days and played the songs to audiences ( a lot of audiences) as they crisscrossed the country paying their “overnight success” dues. They released a couple of EP’s and then with the final line up of songs went and recorded a road tested set of songs and rather than use an external producer spent he time crafting their album,just right. The object of all this care and attention, their debut album ‘An Eye For A Brow, A Tooth For A Pick’ was released in September last year.

So what did they do next, yep criss cross the country some more. Stadium rock extravaganzas with Muse, Big Day Out carnival shows; sharing a box of noodles with John Cooper Clarke, Falls Fest, St Jerome’s national Laneway festival tour, Homebake and the boutique Golden Plains festival, amongst their own launch shows (it’s tough work being an overnight success).

After listening to ?An Eye For A Brow, A Tooth For A Pick? you quickly realise that you wont be able to bung a label on this band, pop in a category and forget them. But you will have a lot of fun listening to them… again and again.
