The sweet voice of Debbie Dawson pulls these contemporary songs to a level beyond the ordinary. A four piece band from the island of Bute on the west coast of Scotland, they have released their second CD called Posing as Human.

CD Baby is the place to download a sampler of both their debut and the new albums and if you are happy to give up your email address in exchange for a full mp3 you can do this on eFolkMusic

Gerry Geoghegan is the songwriter for this outfit and he does a very creditable job too. With this present lineup he plays guitars, sax, keyboards, bodhran and backup vocals. Elaine McCombe is mainly on bass guitar and Kris Manvell plays drums, percussion and keyboards.

There are some tasty arrangements and little bits of flash enliven the fabric of these songs. Definitely worth investing some time and bandwidth. The powerful lyrics of Posing as Human and haunting arrangement are worth the price of admission.

jools is a graphic designer who used to front a band on vocals and bass. All evidence of which have mercifully been obliterated or otherwise lost.
