Pela is a four piece American rock & roll band. Brought up on a diet of bands like Bruce Springsteen, Husker Du, The Pixies and Wilco amongst others. Their upcoming debut album, Anytown Graffiti, is a collection of songs covering the broken love, reckless hope, confusion, celebration, isolation, discovery, addiction, loss, small town stares and big city angst of life in the 21st century.

This is aband big on melodies and they have more hooks than the fisherfolk in Jaws. ?Lost to the Lonesome? is a case in point. Have a listen… can’t you hear the first time you heared the Cars or Elliot Smith or Elvis Costello. There is a desperation in the performance that I really like.

They were paying attention and have it down cold. Like Artic Fire I wish them a long and fruitful career.

I look forward to hearing more of them.

is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
