No gentle intros to lead you into the riffs. Don’t Die Cindy is a Florida outfit playing straight ahead power rock and emo ballads with you guessed it, crunchy guitars and a tight rhythm section. I really like some of the sounds they pull out of the keyboards too. Then there are the vocals.
Listen to Unclothed and Honest for a taste of the lovely Beatlesque harmonies they can produce. Sounds a little like Coldplay if that gives you some idea, with songs that are as strong. Patrick Hosey the lead vocalist is a former punk musican and some of the lyrics tend to reflect this.
The lineup is Jonathan Hoffman – Guitar, Patrick Hosey – Vocals/Guitar/Keyboard, Ryan Nelson – Bass/Keyboard and Steven Kopacz – Drums/Vocals
Make the time to listen, methinks you will enjoy what you hear. Oh and check out the video. There is of course live vids on the MySpace.
From their publicity blurb.
Don’t Die Cindy has done nothing but work as hard as possible to further themselves since the band started. After releasing the self titled, self released EP in 2004 the band has toured over 300 dates, 200 of those dates in 2005 alone. Touring to the west coast twice and once up the east coast along with many miscellaneous regional weeklong and weekend mini-tours, the band continues to network their fan base, with plans to tour much, much more.
