There is something about grungy guitars, tinkling Fender Rhodes keyboards and double tracked vocals that take me back to my childhood (it was just last week… I think I may have misplaced it in my other jeans but I am sure it will turn up again … I digress).
“Like A Thief” is the cause of the sudden rush of nostalgia, Holly Jazz Lowe is the the singer, writer and musician. The music she writes should have huge appeal as long as the mainstream gets to hear it.
Here is some stuff from her site…
Holly doesn’t believe in genre. To that she just says things like “What about The Beatles.” She believes in approaching every song in the way she thinks suits it best at that particular time.
She also believes in working with amazing people. That’s the reason her band members are who they are and why they work so hard and believe in their live show. Never using backing tracks or extra vocalists.
“If a song doesn’t work when you strip it down to a 4 piece band, then it’s not a good song. Simple as. To have both interesting, creative records and exciting, fun live shows is the key, I think. That’s what I believe in. That, and breakfast. Most important meal of the day, don’t you know.”
A great start to another week.
