Kilted and electric, my, these boys are fun. They play the standard celtic fare with a rock sensibility touched by a smattering of country. Their albums, of which there are three, also feature some of their own material.
They play permanently at the Epcot Canadian Pavilion, in the Walt Disney World Resort, Lake Buena Vista, Florida USA, with the ocassional gig in the Florida area. So unless you go to Florida you are unlikely to catch their act.
Jamie Holten, is a fine piper and singer and also knows his way around the electric guitar to pull off some evil licks. Mark Weldon is the bassist and lead singer, Scott Zymowski rocks the drums, Tony Escapa is their keyboard player who adds some wonderful colour to an already great lineup and Randy Holbrook rounds out the line up as the lead guitarist.
The website only has selected samples from which I draw your attention to the Brian McNeill (of Battlefield band fame) penned song called The Roving Dies Hard.
I found the following on, you guessed it, YouTube and their version of Farewell to Nova Scotia followed by Scotland the Brave and incomprehensibly Jingle Bells, will have you tapping your toes at the very least.
For more YouTube clips. there is a selection of live stuff, you takes your chances quality wise, but there are some really good performances. Help yourself and enjoy.
jools is a graphic designer who used to front a band on vocals and bass. All evidence of which have mercifully been obliterated or otherwise lost.
