There is something about English bands, I mean have a listen to “Another Night” and by the end of the first line you just go, “Yep… English”.
The Brightlights are a wonderful example of English indie-rock. They have distilled the last ten years of fast bright guitars, fashionably flat vocals and a tight rhythm section into something approaching unique. The demos they have on the MySpace site are better than a lot of “finished ” stuff that is largly disposable (and I don’t mean that in a pop sense) and just ignored.
Somehow I don’t see these guys being ignored. If they can keep the passionate (almost desperate) edge to their sound they are sure to be around.
Worth a listen and I will be curious to see how the sound changes when the album is released.

fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
