And your first thought is “I wonder if….?” Well no, we wont be confusing Mr Ostrom with the Icelandic singer of the same name, in deed Bjork Ostrom has done all the leg work for us and traced the etymology of his Christian name to the Scandinavian word for birch tree, which as many may know, is a very versatile tree consisting of many intricate layers of bark that are addictive to peel away (IKEA catalogs can be so educational).

Here is some stuff from the website…

Although at age 5, Bjork was set on the path to becoming a professional dancer (dancing to Ray Boltz’s “Churches on Fire” …please inquire for home video footage), fate had a different plan for his life. Bjork’s dad taught him the chords to “Love Hurts” on his Harmony Sovereign guitar. And ever since then, Bjork was hooked! Reigning from the backyard of Cambridge, Minnesota, Bjork Ostrom is pursuing his dream of becoming a musician. This “boy next door” is no longer a boy, but a man passionate about sharing his music with others.

Bjork Ostrom’s music just oozes “commercial”, it’s so slick, there isn’t a hair out of place. This is just plain fun pop music, nothing wrong with it, actually it’s tons better than the manufactured stuff that they ram down our throats from the idol machine. Pretty guitar, discrete string arrangements and a good voice.

Handheld Video from youtube (take seasickness tablets now)…

Worth a listen. You can say

is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
