Kate Nash is getting lots of attention in the UK (and some say she is over exposed – but don’t let that stop you checking out her music) and this could be because she has a wonderful line in stream of consciousness style of song writing. She writes songs that deal with the trivia of everyday life and relationships. The hype is not undeserved because her music stands out from the the usual indie alternative material. Her fresh and spontaneous performance is delivered with a delightful London accent.
Born in 1987 and raised in Harrow outside London, she discovered song writing after becoming bed ridden after breaking her foot. Her parents bought her a guitar to help pass the time and she wrote and recorded an album on her laptop. Foundations is her current single and it features cheesy hand claps, piano, guitars and synth. It’s full of humour and insight.
