I was watching a TV show called “Bones” and in the credits there was a music credit for the title music. A quick once around Google and I had found The Crystal Method’s sites.

The Crystal Method is an American electronic music duo consisting of Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland. Along with The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, The Chemical Brothers, and a few other lesser-known acts, they were pioneers of the big beat electronic dance genre, and one of its few American proponents.

“Keep Hope Alive” is one of their pieces from the late Nineties and it’s BIG. Which is good because that was what attracted me to their music. There are lots of hard edged “big beat” percussion, synthesized basslines that just keeping pushing and a lot of ideas. The lead lines they use are incredibly edgy as well. Basically you may not like this but you wont be able to ignore it. It holds up quite well for a ten year old piece of music.

Worth a look.

UPDATE: I just noticed that they have an album or two at Amie St

is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
