Paul Kelly – A to Z live
By thatch • Jan 16th, 2008 • Category: Acoustic, Australian, Music, Rock
If Paul Kelly lived in Japan he would probably be classed as an “Living National Treasure” but if he lived he in Japan we wouldn’t have some of the best songs that define Australia and Australians.
Now there is good news and there is bad news.
The Good News First: Every month for the next two years, Paul Kelly is providing one alphabet letter’s worth of live tracks.
January is the letter A. The tracks he has picked are “Adelaide“, “After the Show” and “Anastasia Changes Her Mind“. The songs come from live recordings that were done during his A to Z concert series, in which he worked through selections from his career alphabetically. Rather that release them all at once, in a six or seven CD set he came up with the idea of releasing one letter a month over as the best way.
Now the Bad News: Each month the previous songs are removed and a new set put up. February will be the letter “B” (this is starting to sound like Sesame Street),hopefully we will get one of my favourites “Before Too Long“.
So hurry over to http://www.paulkelly.com.au/A-Z/ and register so that you will be notified when the songs change. This really is a chance that shouldn’t be missed.
Here is a memory jogger for you, “Before Too Long” from YouTube …
thatch is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
