Bellowhead

Big, that’s the only word I can think of that describes Bellowhead an eleven piece folk-big-band. OK, we can add really really good, really really exciting and best of all they make me smile.
Bellowhead’s music sort of begins with the English folk traditions of song and dance, but then it heads off down this seriously funky path, you need to head to their Myspace site at http://www.myspace.com/thisisbellowhead and just checkout their sound.
My pick would be “Copshawholme Fair“, think Cirque Du Soliel meets English music hall with say the Grimethorpe Colliery Band as a midwife. But if you want to explore the funkier aspects of their act try “Fire Marengo“, this is live and just brilliant.
Highly Recommended (they really do make me smile).
Their websites are http://www.myspace.com/thisisbellowhead and http://www.bellowhead.co.uk
thatch is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
