Pájaros de Plomo

I’m a sucker for melody and if I can’t understand the language that is being sung, well it doesn’t really matter. As long as there is heart and soul in there somewhere – I can appreciate it.

Case in point is Pájaros de Plomo from Buenos Aires, an Argentinian indie pop band who really rock. They started off as the band Rómulo & Remo who wrote melodic retro countrified songs reminiscent of the 60′s and 70′s. They’ve evolved and their music did too.

Their sound now is much more contemporary, rockier and slick. Let the following clip Lejos de Aca rip and see how these guys have grown.

The current lineup has Cristián Benegas on lead and backing vocals & rythm guitar, Luciano Falinari cranks out the lead guitar, vocals and percussion, Happy Jack on drums and José Llamosas on bass guitar.Their website blurb says:

In 2005, when we started recording our first record, we still were Rómulo & Remo . Many people played in R&R since the band was created in 2000 and, due to our evolution, both musical and in our line-up, we felt it was time for a new identity. So in 2007, among the release of our debut CD, Pájaros de Plomo was born.

Worth your time for a listen.

jools is a graphic designer who used to front a band on vocals and bass. All evidence of which have mercifully been obliterated or otherwise lost.
