Janne Da Arc – Saturday Samples
By jools • Feb 23rd, 2008 • Category: Commercial, Music, RockJanne Da Arc are are a five piece Japanese rock band who started life doing indie pop and it shows, this is not a bad thing. The band itself is currently on a break while the individual members pursue solo projects. Since the llead singer Yasu has started a new band called Acid Black Cherries, I don’t really see them reforming, although, it has been described as a side project.
The members are Yasu on vocals, You on guitar, Ka-yu on bass, Kiyo on keyboard and Shuji on drums. Formedin 1989 in Hirakata, a small suburb of Osaka. In 1999 they joined a commercial label and successfully released several singles and albums in Japan.
Driving rhythm coalescing into classic pop and back again. An interesting combination of influences that is both energetic and exciting. They obviously had a lot of fun making the video below.

jools is
a graphic designer who used to front a band on vocals and bass. All evidence of which have mercifully been obliterated or otherwise lost.
