I just noticed I am getting behind in my “pursuit of perfect pop”, so today’s band is Minipop, a four piece indie pop rock outfit from San Francsico. They have two contenders for the perfect pop list. From their debut album, ‘A New Hope’ is “Like I Do“, another one of those songs that finds its way into your head and takes up residence. Surprisingly delicate vocals, killer guitar riffs and an abundance of electronic washes that fill the background. Oh and a yummy rythm section. Here is a clip from YouTube…

Now onto contender number two “Ask Me A Question“, this has all the same bits, the vocal, the guitars, the rhythm section but it just strikes a chord in my mind. This one has survived for nearly 9 weeks on the MP3 player. I know it’s all in the production but I am still hooked. Actually it’s the the vocals and the guitars. So goto MySpace and have a listen, then I dare you to tell me I’m wrong. Highly Recommended.Minipop’s websites are at www.myspace.com/minipop and www.minipopmusic.com/

Bonus Video: www.minipopmusic.com/videos.html it’s really cute, but I prefer the other one.

is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
