The Concretes -Keep Yours

The Concretes began with Victoria Bergsman, Maria Eriksson, and Lisa Milberg. Since their formation in 1995, they have gradually acquired new members, growing into an eight piece band.
Victoria Bergsman the original vocalist with the band left in 2006 (who moved on to her solo project, Taken By Trees.) and Lisa Milberg took over lead vocal duties on stage, and on the band’s third album Hey Trouble, released early 2007.
The song that caught my ear was “Keep Yours” a pop driving song. I just realised it reminds me of an old Yello song (God that was a long time back). This is one of those summertime, roof down on the car and belting along the windy coast road songs. You feel you should go out and by a convertible as a fashion accessory. There are some really sneaky textures here between the guitar and the keyboards. A lot of fun. If you go to the MySpace site make sure you have a listen ti the KY pacific remix (it’s that last track). Currently both versions are on the MP3 player and I can’t make up my mind.
The Concretes were formed almost ten years ago in downtown Stockholm and currently are : Lisa Milberg, Maria Eriksson, Martin Hansson, Per Nystr”m, Ulrik Karlsson, Daniel V„rj” and Ludvig Rylander.
Recommended (even if you don’t have a convertible)
