As more and more artists discover MySpace, so too there are less and less Saturday Samples. I applaud this as a positive move because it is beyond me why anyone would bother to advertise product on the Internet and expect people to buy it if they’ve never heard or can’t hear it?

Third Road Home - duo - Trinity and Tom Demask

Thus another Saturday slips past without a Saturday Sample, sort of. This act just slips through by the sheen of sweat on their brows by virtue of the one full track that you can download. The track is called Human Race and reminds us that there are people in the world who give a damn about the big things.

Let me tell you a little about Third Road Home. Trinity and Tom Demask from Colorado have been performing together since the spring of 2001 as an acoustic duo. They have released one critically acclaimed indie album in 2004 and are currently recording another which is due out in 2008 sometime, pushed back from 2007.

The guitar playing is compelling, the harmonies are sweet and warm, and the melodies can be a little bit country – and when they are – those are the tracks that sparkle.

Samples from their first album Venus In Retrograde can be heard on their website.
