A Place To Bury Strangers – My Weakness
By thatch • Apr 4th, 2008 • Category: Indie, Music, Rock
A Place To Bury Strangers achieve a sonic intensity that can’t help but remind one of The Jesus and Mary Chain (who have a lot to answer for). A Place To Bury Strangers are a three piece outfit from New York and have been called “the loudest band in New York”. Not having seen them live I can only go off their recordings.
Loudest? Possibly?
Intense? Absolutely.
The overdriven sound they offer is as much a result of their passion as it is the tech that they use. They have been classed as borderline-noise (unfairly in my opinion), but its their melodies that stick in your head. Don’t believe me… head over to www.myspace.com/aplacetoburystrangers and pick one of the songs on offer, “My Weakness” is my fave followed by “Ocean”.
A couple of listens and you will have the guitar riffs banging around in your brain.
Websites can be found at www.aplacetoburystrangers.com/ and www.myspace.com/aplacetoburystrangers
Just noticed there are some songs available for download over at www.freeindie.com/
thatch is
fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
