Nada Surf

Nada Surf fired up in the early Nineties, They released a couple of albums, some were successful, some were ignored (in one case by their record label). But we are here to talk about “Whose Authority“, a beautifully crafted song, lots of guitars, and vocals that sound like they mean it. You can hear that this band knows what they are doing, lyrically they cover a lot of ground and in places it can be a bit wearing and then they just give you the nod and you realise that there is irony in there.

NPR recorded a gig on April 12th 2008 and its a killer set. The band opens with “Hi-Speed Soul” from their 2002 album and it’s a take no prisoners performance. And the third track is an awesome version of “Whose Authority” (thatch does happy dance). The band’s recordings are great, live these guys are fantastic. And they make a lot of noise for a three piece (with some friends helping them pout on the live show)
Seriously Highly Recommended

thatch is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
