The Childballads

I find it amazing that these days I am so captivated by simple uncomplicated performances, I am still a big fan of the “everything louder than everything else” mix but the songs that catch my ear at the moment tend to be like taday’s pick The Childballads and there rather spiffy song “Cheekbone Hollows“.
Guitars, vocals and an opening line that goes
“I keep hearing talk of the doom and they’re sending the meek home,
But that ain’t half as bad as the shadow that’s caught in the hollow of a cheekbone.”
Needless to say i am captivated. As I listen to this band I am left thinking “Damn this sounds like the Stones”, Stewart Lupton is working his way through the same country blues rock ideas that the Stones did around the Exile period but to my ear he is doing a much better job of it.
Make sure you have a listen to Laughter From The Rafters as well. Recommended
