Once Upon A Time … well back in the Eighties actually, a band called Dream Academy released an amazing piece of pop called “Life In A Northern Town”. It was a wonderful wistful thing, full of strings, woodwinds, percussion (tympani), and synthesisers. But we aren’t here to talk about Dream Academy today, we are here to talk about Skibunny.

The first time I heard “Remote Control” it called to mind the same wonder I felt the first time I heard “Life In A Northern Town”. It was full of the same lush textures, the slight touch of melancholy in the vocals and the ideas just tumbling over each other in the production. They really have it all… have a listen to the songs they have up at www.myspace.com/skibunnyclub

Skibunny made their reputations as DJ’s and doing remixes but the live stuff they are doing as a band interests me most.

Highly Recommended.

thatch is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
