The M’s – Pigs Fly
By thatch • Jun 18th, 2008 • Category: Indie, Music, Rock
The M’s were feature recently at NPR’s Second Stage… they played “Pigs Fly” ( I mean, how could you walk past a song title like that). The song caught my interest as it had really great sounds lying all over the place. 60 secs in and you will swear they are channeling early Bowie or Marc Bolan. The guitars are great, (although I am still waiting for a Mick Ronson guitar solo… sigh)
The M’s were formed in early 21st century Chicago. During that time they held their very first board meetings and unanimously elected themselves to the positions of producer, engineer, songwriter, singer, drummer, guitarist, bassist, slide whistler, mouth harpist, keyboard player, arranger, rock god, intern and beer drinker; in no particular order.
The rest of the songs over at MySpace are roller coaster ride of good, great and strange. “Big Noise” is a ripper and “Breakfast Score” is weird and the rest you can make up your own minds about. Seriously though, do give them a listen. There is something wonderfully engaging about them.
Highly Recommended

fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
