Me and the Grownups (what a great name) fired up in late 2006. A year and bit later in February 2008they released their first album, “Battling the Mountains, the Sky and the Sea”.

Anita has her roots in singer-songwriting and traditional folk,Adrian is a jazz guitarist and Jonathan Dreyfus was once a classical violinist and composer, found each other by chance (you gotta love that whole serendipity thing) and figured out that they weren’t bad. Musically they create a sophisticated and intriguing sound. Head over to www.myspace.com/meandthegrownups and check out any of the tracks on offer.

Some hype

Their live shows have been described as “like dreaming with your eyes open” (Beat Magazine) and their subtle sonic dialogues and soaring, emotive melodies promise a unique and touching experience for anyone of open mind.

Some video…

This is a truly wonderful band, the compositions and their performances warrant a good long listen. Highly Recommended.

If you are in Melbourne they are playing at Manchester Lane on 7th Sep 2008. Worth a stroll down I think.

thatch is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
