Almadrava – The Way

Have you ever been rummaging through your playlist and found a band and not have any idea where it came from. That’s what happened to me with Almadrava. They have been on the MP3 player for months now, they show up and I think “Wow, that’s really cool” and the list move on and at some point I repeat this process.
Well today it occurred to me that I had no idea about who this band was or where they came from or even how they got on the MP3 player. Go figure.
Almadrava is basically Patricia Leidig and Pedro Toro, together they create a really nifty combination of chillout ambience and pop. With a combination of acoustic instruments and synths songs like “The Way” (which is the first single off the album) turn out to be really intimate and surprisingly engaging.
Here is a clip of “The Way”…
Here is some stuff from the website…
Sounding more acoustic than the first album, this second one is formed by twelve songs. The group continues in the direction of chill out, without limiting themselves to any temporarily. This is neither a summer album, nor a winter album. Maybe we could say it is a walk along all over the year, in which each song could be identified with a month. Instrumental songs, mixed with the soft voice of Patricia. All of them being part of a whole, made to be listened from the beginning to the end. As surprise, two songs interpreted in Spanish: “Suave” and “Distancia del mar”.
I still have no idea where this came from but it is Highly Recommended
