Red Car Wire – Timing Just Isn’t Your Thing
By thatch • Sep 25th, 2008 • Category: Commercial, Music, Pop
Every year there is a “summer song”, some of the bands that have filled this role have survived past the end of summer (the Ramones, Blink 182), most don’t (anyone remember Wheatus?). Don’t take this the wrong way the summer rock song is a tricky proposition to pull off. You cant just throw out any old crap. It takes a good deal of time, craft and money to get it just right.
Red Car Wire are one of those wonderful, one idea , one hit wonders from the States and my pick for the summer song. Have a listen to “Timing Just Isn’t Your Thing” and by the end of the song you will know the chorus backwards. Get comfortable with it, it’s going to be in your head for the next couple of months.
Listen carefully to the vocals and the guitars. They just ooze slick production, I am genuinely impressed by what they have done with the vocals, there is so much attention lavished on this song it’s scary. Still that’s the way the majors run up a bill on your account. (I digress).
Insidious, catchy as hell and Recommended
