Wintergreen
Wintergreen are yummy. THis is the sort of music that I love having on the MP3 player, I’ll admit It’s the combination of Fender Rhodes and crunchy guitars on their song “Forest St” that does it for me (the bass solo is a big plus as well). But the vocals and the lyrics have a way of staying with you.
Wintergreen got their big break when the clever homemade video for their song “When I Wake Up” became an internet phenomenon. With that notoriety, the band was able to team up with producer Niko Bolas (Neil Young, Keith Richards, My Morning Jacket, Fiona Apple) to put the final touches on their debut EP. Whether you believe in the staying power of internet celebrities, there’s no denying Wintergreen’s catchy power pop.
Here is the video for “When I Wake Up” Dir: Keith Schofield
The rest of the tunes over at MySpace are equally compelling. This is a band that has ideas to burn and a lot of territory to explore and there aren’t to many other people out where they are working. I hope they stay a round for a long time.
Highly Recommended

fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
