The Guggenheim Grotto

The Guggenheim Grotto

The Guggenheim Grotto showed up a couple of weeks ago on NPR Second Stage and didn’t they just make my day. I had this stuff on the MP3 player faster than you could blink.

Kevin May and Mick Lynch began playing together on the Dublin songwriter circuit back in 2003.They recorded a a 5 track which led to their first  full-length album. They then spend a few years touring and getting seen. (You have to love overnight suceess).

Now forgetting that , head over to www.myspace.com/guggenheimgrotto and pick a track.  I suggest you start with the charmingly retro “Fe Da Da Dee”, or maybe “Philosophia” (they sound like they are channelling Simon and Garfunkel in this one). I should add that these are my two favourite songs so far.

Here are the lads performing  “Fe Da Da Dee” live at The Living Room, NYC From the Happy The Man CD Release gig…

These boys have charm to burn and shouldn’t be missed. Highly Recommended.

Websites at www.guggenheimgrotto.com/ and www.myspace.com/guggenheimgrotto

is fascinated by guitars, music, guitars, production, silly noises, guitars and used to be a musician. Did I mention the thing about the guitars?
